100 Day

Every school day we put a 10 cent in a jar. I wonder how many coins we will have at the end of the year?
Every time we get 10 coins we do something special.
170 Day
We used lids, 170 lids.
We counted then into 10s, 17 X 10 = 170

 First we counted 170 lids with our buddy.

 Then we started creating. Look at our cool creations!

160 Day 
We got 160 bits of fruit for 160 day.

 10 +10 + 20 + 120 grapes makes 160.

 We made fruit kebabs. Yummy!

150 Day
We made edible necklaces with 150 beads, well 150 bits of cereal.

 We had to thread them on string.

 This is what they turned out like.

140 Day 
We each counted out 140 little colourful squares.

We counted out 14 groups of 10. 14 x 10 = 140.

What would we do with 140 little squares?

130 Day
On 130 day we got into our Think crews and collected 130 things. We needed 13 groups of 10.
13 X 10 = 130

 Then we made them into pictures.

We took all the photos and made our 130 Day book.

120 Day
 What can you make with 120 circles of paper?

 We decorated our circles,

 Then cut them out.

 We counted them into groups of 10. There were 12 groups of 10.
12 X 10 = 120

 We put 10 and 10 together. 10 + 10 = 20, six groups of 20 makes 120.

 The Room 1 kids came to help us make something with the 20 circles.
We had to fold them and glue them.

 What did we  make with 20 circles?
A paper ball.

With 120 circles we made 6 paper balls
110 Day
We sang a song about frogs, 110 little speckled frogs! 

So we decided to make 110 speckled green frogs.

We needed 11 piles of 10. 11 X 10 = 110

We stuck some frogs on the speckled log and some in the pool.
There are 40 frogs in the pool, how many are still on the log?

100 Day ! 

 The first day of Term 3 was 100 day. Over the holidays we collected 100 things for 100 day collection.
Here are some of our 100 day collections.

 We played Roll 100 with a buddy.

 We made 100 day smarter crowns.

 100 days smarter!

90 Day
For 90 day we got 90 dot stickers.

 We decided to make Riley into an alien using the dot stickers

 We called him Ping-Pong the space alien.
Afterwards we took all the stickers off Riley and used them to make a board game.

We love our new board game.
80 Day 
This week our big book is The Gingerbread man. Today we made our own gingerbread men.
We had 80 M&Ms, 80 mini marshmallows, and 80 jellybeans to decorate them with. There are 20 kids in Room 16 so there are 20 gingerbread men, so how many jelly beans, marshmallows and M&Ms did we get each?

 20 cooked gingerbread men. Luckily none escaped!

 We got 4 of each. 20 X 4 = 80  Don't they look delicous!

70 Day
 We blew up 70 balloons! Some of us had never blown up balloons before.
We had lots of fun playing with them.

60 Day
Our letter of the week was Y, y for yellow so we used all the yellow paper in Room 16 to make 60 yellow yachts.

 6 rows of 10 yachts, 6 X 10 = 60

 We tried 3 out to see how they worked, and we all got 3 to take home to try at home.
50 Day
It was wheels day so we got 50 things with wheels.

 Match box cars! We counted them into 10s to check there were 50.

 10 + 10 +10 + 10 + 10 = 50

 Then we played with them!

40 Day 
We made special 40 day hats for 40 day.

 First we made our hats and wrote 40 all over them.

 Then we had to decorate them with 40 things, 10 stickers, 10 shapes and 20 other things.
 10 + 10 + 20 = 40

 Our hats are pretty amazing!

30 Day
What do you do with 30 pieces of fruit?

 We had 2 oranges, 1 watermelon, 1 pear, 2 plums, 2 bananas, 2 apples and 20 grapes.

 So we made a yummy fruit salad.

20 Day 
It was Sea week, so we made 20 creatures that live in the sea, fish.

 Once we had drawn our fish, we put 20 dots on for scales.

 Our fish were laminated and googly eyes added.

 20 fish for 20 day.

10 Day
To celebrate 10 day we made 10 using our hands.

We took turns painting each others hands and then making handprints.
We used our handprints as legs on a caterpillar.
We made a very big caterpillar!

We named our caterpillar Caleb.
Caleb has 190 legs!
